“Knowledge is power but knowledge sharing is empowerment"
Knowledge is no great work done without it. The more knowledge you gain the more powerful you become. “Kung walang knowledge, walang power!” As the Tagalog saying goes. However, sharing your knowledge to everyone equates empowerment since this will create in others a unique sense of belongingness that would inspire and motivate them to create a desirable outcome and they too share those knowledge imparted from you to others. It also opens to share their hidden talents and abilities if they know there are someone who supports and willing to learn from them.People inherently come and go, just like in an organization in which an employee suddenly resign to seek a greener pastures. Such employee is a team leader who is expert or skilled enough on his field and his sudden absence destabilizes the organization. This experience thereafter sets up managers to implement the effective knowledge management, as a back up plan in case this scenario will recur.
According to Reynolds (2010),knowledge management is a practice concerned with increasing awareness, fostering learning, speeding collaboration and innovation, and exchanging insights.
The organization through which I belong will benefit much from knowledge management.

In the medical field, the constant sharing and imparting of the latest clinical guidelines with recent innovations and modalities from our medical experts greatly help us updating ourselves In order to apply it in our daily practice as physicians. During the pandemic, our medical experts religiously and continuously updated us through various online platforms. Moreover, in a hospital setting, our consultants imparts knowledge through daily endorsement and bedside rounds. The biggest barriers in implementing knowledge management in our organization is the reluctance and refusal of some colleagues to new learnings and medical practices, limited/no time in learning and participation.
Knowledge is power when shared. :-)
