Living in this world for 4 decades, I have experienced the progressive transformation of our digital technologies and how they were constantly evolve to make our lives more easier and convenient. I was born wherein we use film camera to capture life’s memories and events and pay for P4.00 to each picture that was developed, the use of handwritten letters, telegraph, two way radio and a rotary dial telephone for communication and paying a huge amount for long distance calls. In school, we use Manila Paper, Cartolina or a blackboard for reporting and teachers record our grades through a record book. From the use of typewriters, white outs for erasures and reading various books in the library to make our research paper. We also enjoyed childhood by going to the park and play and goes to movie theaters to watch movies.


In an era of digitalization nowadays, the use of information technology was set to make our lives more comfortable in the very own comforts of our home. From the use of cellphones, tablets, laptops, personal computers, smart watches and television, digital cameras and the use of electronic mails (emails), social media platforms, online games and activities pave its way for easy communications, leisures and appointments.

During this pandemic, my knowledge on the use of information technology system was enhanced through the use of teleconsultations, online conferences, and learnings,  using mobile payment app such as GCASH to pay for my bills and even groceries, and killing boredom especially when your are quarantined by watching movies at Netflix, singing and dancing at WeSing and TikTok respectively, endless conversation with friends through Messenger, and Viber and connecting to the outside world by using all means of various applications in the internet.


Life is indeed better and cool because of our connections in the Information technology world.
